Miranda Lambert is an American country music singer and songwriter. She began her music career in early 2001 when she independently released her self-titled debut album. Miranda finished in third place on the television program Nashville Star in 2003. The program is a singing competition that aired on the USA Network.

She is a member of the Pistol Annies, formed in 2011, alongside Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe. Amazingly, Miranda has recived numerous honors and recognition from the Grammy Awards, the Country Music Association Awards, and the Academy of Country Music Awards. Notably, she has been honored with more Academy of Country Music Awards than any artist in the history of country music.

Miranda made her professional debut while still in High school with “The Texas Pride Band”. Moreover, she fronted the house band at the Reo Palm Isle in Longview. She started out her career in early 2001. This is after she released her self-titled debut album independently consisting of 10 tracks. In 2003, Miranda earned a third-place finish behind Buddy Jewell and John Arthur Martinez after participating in the audition for the talent competition Nashville Star.

She signed with Epic Records on September 15, 2003. In 2004, Miranda released her debut single, “Me and Charlie Talking” as the lead single to her debut album, titled Kerosene. The song was co-written by her father and Heather Litte.

Additionally, the Kerosene album comprised 12 songs, 11 of which she wrote or co-wrote. The album was also certified Platinum in the United States and produced the singles “Me and Charlie Talking”, “Bring Me Down”, “Kerosene” and “New Strings”.

Miranda released her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, on May 1, 2007. The album had 11 tracks of which she wrote 8 of them including its four singles. Notably, “Famous in a Small Town”, “Gunpowder & Lead” and “More Like Her” singles peaked within the top 20 on the country songs chart. In July 2008, her song “Gunpowder & Lead” became her first top 10 entry.

She released her third album, Revolution, on September 29, 2009, with 15 tracks. Moreover, Miranda co-wrote 11 of the tracks which also includes co-writes from Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum and Blake Shelton.

Her fourth album, Four the Record, was released on November 1, 2011. This was Miranda’s first album for RCA Nashville after Sony Music Nashville announced a corporate restructuring. She co-wrote the “Over You” track with Shelton and it reached number 1 in early 2012.

The song “Automatic” reached the top five on the Country charts. Miranda released her sixth studio album, The Weight of These Wings, on November 18, 2016. Moreover, her seventh studio album, Wildcard, was released on November 1, 2019.

Miranda announced her upcoming collaborative record with fellow singer-songwriters Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, The Marfa Tapes in 2020. The collaborative record was released on May 7, 2021, to vast critical acclaim, given its departure from Lambert’s usual sound and its acoustic, stripped-back feel.

Kerosene is Miranda’s second and major-label debut album released in 2005. The debut album was certified Platinum in the United States and produced the singles “Me and Charlie Talking”. Additionally, the album comprised 12 songs, 11 of which she wrote or co-wrote. Amazingly, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts. Amazingly, the album gained a Platinum certification from the RIAA for shipments of over one million copies. Until July 2008, it had sold more than 930,000 copies.

The Album produced 4 top singles overall on the Billboard country charts, including the title track which was a Top 20 hit. In early 2006, Miranda toured with Keith Urban and George Strait. Moreover, she also toured with Dierks Bentley and Toby Keith in 2007.

Miranda won a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her single “Kerosene” in 2007. In addition, she won the CoverGirl “Fresh Face of Country Music Award” during the 40th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas in 2005. In the same year, Miranda got nominated for the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award.
